What color eyeshadow for golden brown eyes?

I will be attending a wedding tomorrow afternoon, and I am totally inept when it comes to makeup. I have reddish brown hair, very pale skin with a yellow undertone and golden-brown eyes with black and gold flecks in them. My dress is dark rather purplish red. What is the best eyeshadow for me to wear to make my eyes stand out, but not look over exaggerated?





I looked online and it said things like ';purple with a violet highlight'; what does that mean? how does one apply ';highlights'; and etc?What color eyeshadow for golden brown eyes?
Since you are not experience with eye makeup, I'd go with something rather subtle.


I think earthy tones can work well, and not look to obviously ';made up';.





With your fair skin I'd also get a lighter shade of mascara, like ';brownish black'; rather than ';black black';.





Err on the side of too little. If you dont normally wear makeup, a little eyeshadow and some mascara will make a nice difference.





You can try an eyeshadow that comes with 3 colors, and it will hopefully show which color goes where. Basically the medium color is for the lid and the dark color is for the crease. But in the end its all blended so the different shades would look subtle,What color eyeshadow for golden brown eyes?

I have the exact hair and eye color and i get compliments all the time on my eye make-up. Here is what i do.


1. I put on Maybelline new york loose powder eye shadow color - opulent green ( can be found at kroger... see link)


2. Then i put on colossal valum' express mascara which is also maybelline. color- classic black


3. And last i put on L'oreal paris pencil perfect cocoa eyeliner. BUT only on your bottom eyelid on your wet line.
